9 Things You Never Knew About Dan + Shay’s “Tequila”

When you taste “Tequila,” does a certain song come to mind? If it’s Dan + Shay‘s irrestistable single, you are not alone.

For country duo Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, their track not only pleased critics when it was released. But as it turns out, music fans from multiple genres couldn’t help but fall in love with the heartfelt lyrics and catchy beat.

“We knew it was really special, we were really proud of this song. Sometimes a piano ballad is a little risky to put out as a radio single, but we put [‘Tequila’] out, and immediately we could feel the reaction was, like, so elevated,” Dan shared with Billboard. “Radio embraced it, played it and the fans reacted to it. It’s cool that we trusted our gut on that one.”

Tomorrow night, the song could just win Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year at the 2018 CMA Awards. NBD, right?

But before the awards are handed out, we wanted to do some digging on one of country music’s biggest hits of the year. Raise a glass and cheers to one unforgettable single.

Hugh Jackman Calls Stan Lee a “Creative Genius” in a Touching Tribute

Without Stan Lee, there would be no X-Men.

Hugh Jackman won the role of a lifetime when he was cast as Wolverine in the 2000 film adaptation of the beloved comic book series, replacing Dougray Scott three weeks into filming. While John Romita Sr., Roy Thomas and Len Wein had created the character, Jackman knew how influential Lee had been in developing the franchise. So, hours after Lee’s death Monday, the actor wanted to pay tribute to the pop culture legend on The Late Show. “Let me just say, to the family and to the legions of fans, that I remember Stan as a true gentleman who had this glint in his eye. He’s a creative genius,” Jackman said to Stephen Colbert. “He thought outside the box. He created a whole universe that changed the lives of many people—mine included.”

The actor got to know Lee well over the years, and he always marveled at how beloved he was. “If you ever want to get a real understanding of where you’re at in the world, you think, ‘I’m Wolverine. I’m walking into Comic-Con…This is a good day for me,'” the actor said. “I was on a red carpet and I was the only one on there, and no one was taking my photo, because at the other end was Stan Lee. There were about 300 photographers and interviewers—just on Stan!”

“Stan, God bless you,” Jackman added. “You’re one of the greats.”

Inside Kane Brown’s Whirlwind Rise to Country Music Superstardom

At just 25-years-old, Kane Brown is at the top of his game and has no plans of slowing down.

The Georgia native burst onto the scene a few years back, steadily gaining notoriety through social media and amongst country music circles. But there’s no doubt 2018 has been Kane’s most successful year yet, having made strides both professionally and personally. So how did this one-time aspiring singer harness the power of the internet and a great voice to become a global country sensation? It’s a modern-day story for the ages.

While Brown first rose to prominence in 2013 by posting performance covers online, many musicians in the industry didn’t take him seriously. “Even Luke Bryan,” Brown recalled to the Washington Post, “it took him eight years going bar to bar and just playing. With me just coming off social media, a lot of radio people were like, ‘Who is this dude?'”

It wasn’t long until his songs were getting just as much radio play—if not more—as his idols. After releasing his first EP, Chapter 1, to rave reviews, Brown stepped up his game and announced his self-titled album at the end of 2016. The album reached platinum certification and turned Brown into a bonafide country sensation.

Camila Mendes Explains Boyfriend Charles Melton’s Fiery Nickname for Her

Fans love the nuggets of info Mendes shares with her fans, especially if they involve her and her co-star beau. However, as the 24-year-old continues to learn with her new life in the public eye, not everything should be shared.

“I want to be pretty normal and conversational and I like to talk to people, so my instinct is always just to talk about [my boyfriend], but then the famous side of me is like, ‘Don’t do that. Maybe don’t talk about it as much or don’t open that door as much,’ because at the end of the day it is a private thing.”

Still, as she mentioned, she’s innately an open person.

“I’m not naturally a private person, so I try to bring that side of me out in public, too,” she added. “I do have to learn and I’m still learning boundaries with myself.”

Meet the Cast of the Veronica Mars Revival

Be cool, soda pop, because the cast of the upcoming Veronica Mars revival is enough to make Marshmallows lose it.

The eight-episode miniseries revival set to debut on Hulu in 2019 features many fan-favorite returning faces and some new additions to the troupe. Kristen Bell is back as the titular snarky private eye, of course. Series creator Rob Thomas, who is returning to executive produce and write, previously told E! News there is no Veronica Mars without Bell.

“What I’m hoping for is that after I retire, some quality young writer wants to remake it and send me checks that’s the dream there,” Thomas said.

Trinity Fatu Tries to Get Hubby Jimmy Uso to Consider Living in Atlanta on Total Divas

“I’m not trying to make you feel bad about doing that. That’s what makes you a great parent. That’s what makes you a great dad. And the kids should come first and they have came first this whole time,” Trinity reassures Jon. “And I’m not asking you to change anything, I just want you to be OK with me being gone and visiting more.”

With the added bonus of Jon’s brother recently moving to Atlanta, Trinity proposes a monthly trip that would allow to her catch up with her Uncle Buck and her friends and family down south.

“My hope is that we could balance both living in Atlanta and Pensacola, somehow,” Trinity confesses to the camera.

See the couple butt heads over splitting up their time between the two cities in the clip above.

Armie Hammer Slammed for Criticizing Celebrities’ Stan Lee Tributes

Armie Hammer has problem with the way celebrities are honoring Stan Lee

The comic book legend, who famously created many of the Marvel Universe’s beloved superheroes, died on Monday at 95 years old. Naturally, all the fans he touched with his creations and the stars who brought such comic book characters to life showered the internet with posts in homage to Lee. In the age of social media, grieving stars typically use their platforms to commemorate icons who have passed away.

As the tributes poured in, however, Hammer took issue with how celebrities were remembering the late legend. Specifically, he called out the photos they posted of themselves with Lee.

“So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee… no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself,” the Call Me By Your Name star tweeted on Monday.

“They… worked with him…?” a reporter responded. “Me…. too…?” Hammer retorted. The actor voiced a character in Lee’s Mighty 7 in 2014.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Finally Has a Premiere Date

It’s about time.

This morning, HBO dropped a teaser video promoting Game of Thrones‘ highly anticipated final season. While it sadly didn’t feature any new footage, it did recap what led its heroes and villains to the impending conclusion. In between shots of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and others, the network teased its dramatic finale. “Every battle. Every betrayal. Every risk. Every fight. Every sacrifice. Every death,” it said. “All for the throne.”

The trailer also revealed the final six episodes will begin airing in April 2019. The first episode, written by Dave Hill and directed by David Nutter, does not have a specific airdate at this time.

Lorde Goes After Kanye West and Kid Cudi for “Stealing” Her Set Design

UPDATE: Set designer Es Devlin has seemingly responded to Lorde‘s accusations, posting a photo to Instagram of a floating box she designed for the English National Opera in 2007. Noting the date, it appears she first used the design concept over 10 years ago. “CARMEN by Georges Bizet , English National Opera 2007,” the designer, who has worked with Kanye West since 2005 and has also worked with Lorde, captioned the post.

TMZ reports that Devlin designed Kanye’s floating stage for his Saint Pablo Tour in 2016, and worked with Lorde on a similar box look the following year for Coachella, a similar design was later used for Lorde’s tour.

_______

Lorde is taking some issue with Kanye West and Kid Cudi‘s most recent concert at Tyler, The Creator‘s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles. The duo performed under the name Kids See Ghosts, which is also the name of the album they released together in June.

On Thursday, the “Royals” singer posted a few photos on Instagram comparing her 2017 tour set—including her headlining stint at Coachella—alongside pictures from Camp Flog Gnaw. In both instances, a transparent and enclosed stage-like area is suspended above the ground. Kanye and Kid Cudi were both in the box, whereas Lorde stood in front of it in her photos. Other dancers and performers were in the hanging stage during her concert.

Lorde, however, did not call out Kids See Ghosts by name on her Instagram story, but a picture can be worth a thousand words. In one part of her story, she wrote, “I’m proud of the work I do and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they try it on themselves.”

She added, “But don’t steal—not from women or from anyone else—in 2018 or ever.”

“I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely and that’s all that matters right now,” she revealed to followers. “My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family and friends stand strong. I am grateful for all I have left. Sending so much love and gratitude to the firefighters and L.A. County Sheriff’s department!”

A source would later share with E! News that Miley was out of the country during the fires.

Rob Kardashian Fighting to Pay Blac Chyna Less Child Support After His Income Drops

Rob Kardashian is fighting to dole out less child support.

The reality star, who welcomed his first child with ex Blac Chyna back in November 2016, has filed new court documents, in which he reportedly claimed he can no longer afford to pay $20,000 from their previous child support agreement, according to The Blast. A source confirmed Rob filed documents asking for lower child support, but E! News has not obtained the documents.

In September 2017, the former couple reached a private agreement over custody of then-10-month-old daughter Dream Kardashian. Details about any child support were not disclosed at the time. “Because Rob agreed to continue to stay away from Chyna and not contact her, Chyna has agreed to take the domestic abuse hearing scheduled for Monday, September 18 off calendar,” her attorney Lisa Bloom told E! News in a statement at the time. “She will always have the right to go back into court if further incidents of domestic abuse occur.” Kardashian denied Chyna’s abuse allegations.

In the new documents cited by The Blast, Kardashian reportedly claimed the domestic violence restraining order Chyna filed in July 2017 against him took a toll.

Inside Vanessa Marcil, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox’s Family Drama

Vanessa Marcil has shared accusations against her ex and former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star, Brian Austin Green, regarding their 16-year-old son, Kassius.

Green and Marcil welcomed their son in March 2002, a few years before the actor started dating actress Megan Fox, who he had met while filming the TV show Hope & Faith. The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, have three sons together, Noah, 6, Bodhi, 4, and Journey River, 2. But, according to a recent Instagram post by Marcil, Kassius has “never met” his youngest brother and that Green and Fox “completely cut Kass out of their lives” five years ago.

“12 years ago I was served legal papers and then spent 8 years+ defending myself and my son in custody court in response to his father & his stepmother trying to get full custody(that means I would have seen my son four days a month) and then asking me to pay them child support,” Marcil claimed in her social media post. “They lost that case & a civil case asking me for 200,000.”

Lil Wayne And Post Malone – What About Me Remix lyrics

[Intro: Lil Wayne]
If you saw me, would you understand
That I can’t stand you with another man?
I see you happy where your life is at
I see you smile, I can’t live with that

[Chorus: Lil Wayne]
‘Cause what about me? Yeah
I stayed up all night for you
Girl, girl, what about me? Yeah
I shut down my life for you
Now you run around with him, and him, and him
How you do that?
How you act like I never held you every night?
And now you never call back, please
Girl, girl, what about me?

[Verse 1: Lil Wayne]
Oh, tell me, do you ever think about it?
Those lonely nights when you ’bout lost it (Oh)
The only time that you would call
Was just to tell me it’s my fault (Oh)
I let you cry, I let you worry
I let you yell, I let you hurt me (Oh)
I gave you everything you needed
Now you gone, gone, gone
Tell me, how you do that to me? Yeah

[Chorus: Lil Wayne]
Girl, what about me? Yeah
I stayed up all night for you (Yeah)
Girl, girl, what about me? Yeah (Girl, what about me?)
I shut down my life for you (I shut down my life)
Now you run around with him, and him, and him
How you do that? (Oh)
How you act like I never held you every night?
Now you never call back, please (Please)
Girl, girl, what about me?

[Refrain: Lil Wayne]
Oh, girl, girl, girl, what about me? Me?

[Verse 2: Post Malone]
I ain’t never been no one to let it go (Let it go)
Never thought I’d see you leave me in the cold
Every time that you got mad
You would leave and come right back
Always bringing up the past
Guess you couldn’t handle this
Where you at when you’re not with me?
You ignoring my calls
Look how quick you forgot ’bout me
I’m waiting

[Chorus: Lil Wayne & Post Malone]
Girl, what about me? Yeah (Girl, what about me?) (Oh)
I stayed up all night for you (I stayed up all night) (Oh)
Girl, girl, what about me? (What about me, girl? Yeah, what about me, girl?)
I shut down my life for you (I shut down my life)
Now you run around with him, and him, and him
How you do that? (How, girl?)
How you act like I never held you every night?
And now you never call back, please (Please)
Girl, girl, what about me? Me? (Yeah, what about me?)
Oh-ho-oh
