Award season is in full swing and Hollywood’s A-list stars attended the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday in Santa Monica, Calif. to celebrate the achievements in entertainment over the last year.
And while viewers were able to watch the award show, hosted by Olivia Munn, on the CW, E! News was at the award show on Thursday to spot things you couldn’t see at home on TV. Let’s check out the behind-the-scenes scoop below!
Emma Roberts was being complimented on her bangs on her way in. She was blushing and saying “thank you so much.” She poured herself champagne as she sat and Evan Peters came and took a seat next to her when he was done with press line. They were later spotted whispering and having side chatter during the show.
The 2018 SAG Awards has announced its first group of all-female presenters.
On Sunday, Jan. 21 when the curtain rises at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, film fanatics can expect to see the following actresses presenting awards: Emma Stone, Halle Berry, Lupita Nyong’o, Dakota Fanningand Star Wars actress Kelly Marie Tran.
Last month it was revealed that all 13 acting categories would be presented by women. Their announcement came shortly prior to the start of the Time’s Up movement, which is currently at the forefront of Hollywood’s collective conscious. Additionally, Kristen Bell is set to host.
“Beginning with the Women’s March in January, it’s been the year of the woman,” executive producer Kathy Connell told The Hollywood Reporter. “This is a unifying salute to women who have been very brave and speaking up.”
Just hours after five women have accused James Franco of sexual misconduct, the actor was a no-show during the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony to accept his award for Best Actor.
Instead, Vice Principals star Walton Goggins thanked the audience and said, “James couldn’t be here so we accept this on his behalf.”
The timing comes as the recent Golden Globe winner is in the midst of addressing allegations made against him.
During an interview with Seth Meyers on Late Night Wednesday night, he told the host:
“I was sent a couple of the tweets. So yeah, I did read them. I haven’t responded,” the Disaster Artist actor said. “The ones I read were not accurate, but one of the things that I’ve learned is that this is a conversation that obviously needs to be had. There are people, women and others, who have not been a part of this conversation. I truly believe, and why I was wearing the pin, is that they need to be a part of this conversation. I support them.”
New details are being revealed in Georgina Chapman and Harvey Weinstein‘s divorce settlement.
One day after the news broke, E! News has learned the settlement involved an agreement that Georgina would receive between $15-20 million.
According to People, Georgina will also receive primary custody of their two children. The former couple, however, is still working out the details of the division of their marital assets.
No documents have been filed as of yet. E! News did confirm that the famous couple agreed to their divorce settlement in late December.
Back in October, Georgina released a statement where she announced she was leaving her husband as he continues to face sexual harassment allegations. Through his spokesperson, Harvey has continuously denied ever having non-consensual sex with anyone.
It’s without a doubt been a difficult week for Ellen DeGeneres.
The talk show host and beloved comedian has not only faced the devastation around her home in Montecito after mudslides, but she’s mourning the loss of her father Elliott DeGeneres.
During today’s show, Ellen honored her late father in a moving tribute by telling the audience a story about a sign she received shortly before his passing.
“In addition to what’s going on in Montecito, I lost my dad this week. He was 92 years old. He had a good, long life.”
She added on Instagram, “It wasn’t unexpected. I was able to say goodbye. When I was a kid, my dad took us on one vacation to Warner Bros. Studios. He loved this business. He loved that I was in it. When he died, I saw this rainbow over the stage they named for me.”
And the award for most precious 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards attendees goes to Brooklynn Prince and Jacob Tremblay!
The pint-sized celeb kiddos hit the red carpet at tonight’s event in Los Angeles, where they were both nominated in the Best Young Actor/Actress category. The honor ultimately went to Prince for her critically-acclaimed performance in The Florida Project, and her tear-filled acceptance speech might just go down as the sweetest moment from the 2018 award season thus far.
“Wow, this is such a big honor,” the 7-year-old shared onstage. “All the nominees are great, you guys are awesome… All the voters, you guys are awesome. Thank you so much.”
Little Brooklynn continued, “God, I would like to thank you for this wonderful opportunity and I would like to thank [director] Sean [Baker] for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be in his movie. I would like to thank the cast and crew for giving me wonderful support. My family, you guys are awesome and my team.”
Savannah Chrisley is off the market!
The Chrisley Knows Best star went public with her relationship on Instagram Thursday, revealing to fans that she’s dating professional ice hockey player Nic Kerdiles. No word yet if protective papa Todd Chrisley approves of Savannah’s new boyfriend, but it’s obvious the 20-year-old is totally smitten with Nic.
In a sweet birthday post to the athlete, Savannah wrote, “HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the kindest, funniest, loving, most selfless person @nickerdiles I hope you have the most amazing day ever! and I’m sorry I can’t be there. But I do wanna take a second to say…It’s kinda crazy how God works!”
She continued, “After spending months of focusing on ME…you came along. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face even when we’re thousands of miles away from each other!”
Safe to say Sheryl Crow won’t be tuning into The Four next week.
The singer-songwriter took to Twitter Thursday evening with a message regarding FOX’s new singing competition, and her apparent distaste for one of the show’s panelists, Republic Records president Charlie Walk.
“Seriously!! Who the heck is Charlie Walk?” Crow wrote. “An artist is not a brand, Charlie. That is what is wrong with the music industry. Bogus pretentious TV talent show.”
The “Soak Up the Sun” songstress had nothing specifically negative (or positive that is) to say about Walk’s fellow panelists, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Fergie, Meghan Trainor and DJ Khaled.
Wonder Woman would be quite impressed with Gal Gadot tonight.
During the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards, director Patty Jenkins took to the stage to explain why the Hollywood actress was more than deserving of the second annual #SeeHer Award.
The special trophy aims to recognize the importance of accurately portraying women across the entertainment landscape.
In the case of Gal, Patty explained to the star-studded audience that the Wonder Woman star shined as her on-screen character in more ways than one.
“She excelled at every aspect of the universal hero’s struggle in real life on and off the screen. But the really special thing is, she didn’t do it for the glory. She didn’t do it for the fame. She’s not here for the money. She did it for us,” Patty explained. “She knew the great importance of this character and what she could mean to the world if well done.”
