While Jim still has some questions about the specifics of his fathers death, he’s happy to know that his passing was quick.
“The important thing is to know it was quick and that there was nothing that getting there for anybody could have done,” Jim says.
Watch Jim finally get some closure in the clip above.
When it comes to red carpet moments that leave lasting impressions, the Oscars are where it’s at.
Sure, by this time of the year we’ve all witnessed couture gowns a plenty but, time and time again, it’s this final show of the season that makes a mark. Even better, what if we told you that this year you could be among the very first to see 2018’s best looks the second they hit the carpet?
If you already have the E! News app (get it here: iOS App Store or here: Google Play Store), you probably already know all about E! Live 360, presented by AT&T.
You can’t get Mandy Moore -status skin in a day.
But using face serums regularly helps!
While applying a cream or moisturizer works, there are still many who skip on hydrating serums or face oils, which not only adds luminosity to a red carpet visage but helps slow down the signs of aging with continual use. During award season, it’s a step celeb makeup artists make sure to not miss.
Full transparency: Celebs have their favorite products, and the ones worn during award shows are typically used because of some endorsement deal negotiated by the beauty brands. Those, however, are not always mutually exclusive.
Colbert said it was unfortunate that Weinstein “dragged” her “into his pile of s–t,” but Lawrence said she’s used to it. “Everybody does,” she laughed, “but I’m very lucky and happy!”
Last week, Lawrence blasted Weinstein’s legal tactics. “Harvey Weinstein and his company are continuing to do what they have always done, which is to take things out of context and use them for their own benefit. This is what predators do, and it must stop. For the record, while I was not victimized personally by Harvey Weinstein, I stand behind the women who have survived his terrible abuse and I applaud them in using all means necessary to bring him to justice whether through criminal or civil actions,” she told E! News in a statement. “Time’s up.”
Weinstein’s rep later said he “acknowledges the valuable input” Lawrence and Streep “have contributed to this conversation” and apologized for involving them in the class action lawsuit.
Cue the waterworks!
If there’s anyone we can count on for a good cry these days, it’s Jimmy Kimmel. This year’s Oscars host has taken viewers along one emotional ride in the past 12 months after revealing last May that his son Billy was born with genetic heart disease that required immediate surgeries.
The late-night host has since made several emotional pleas on his show in the name of beneficial health care reform for all and raising money for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He’s also delivered heartfelt monologues in the wake of several of the year’s tragedies, including the most recent shooting in Parkland, Fla. In the process, he’s shed many tears.
“It’s embarrassing to me. I try not to cry,” Kimmel told DeGeneres.”I pinch my hand.”
Well, the self-admitted “crier” was in for yet another emotional surprise—this time a happy one!—when the daytime host revealed she had a special secret up her sleeve.
As the special guest, Middleton got to learn about the education and training programs available to doctors specializing in obstetrics and gynecology and watched as trainees demonstrated how to stitch up a new mother after a Caesarean section.
The royal concluded her trip by accepting a certificate to mark her new patronage. “I’m confident that you will receive excellent care from the wonderful team at my own hospital, as indeed you received for the births of Prince George and Princess Charlotte,” President of the RCOG, Professor Lesley Regan, said during a ceremony. “We look forward to a very long and fruitful relationship with you and your family.”
Furthermore, Ilona Herman, a makeup artist, told The New York Times Thurman later told her that Weinstein threatened to derail the star’s career.
In a statement to The New York Times, Weinstein denied through a spokesperson trying to threaten her prospects. He did acknowledge her accounts in the steam room and described their working relationship as “flirtatious and fun.” The statement also said “he immediately apologized.”
Kim Kardashian loves her family, but there are also a few sibling qualities she could live without.
In her cover story for Vogue India’s March 2018 issue—Kim’s seventh Vogue cover—the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed which qualities she’d borrow and take away from each of her family members to form the ultimate Kardashian.
When it came to the best qualities, Kim had a rather lengthy list.
“My brother’s sense of humor. Kendall’s sweetness. Khloé’s I-don’t-give-a-f–k attitude. Kourtney’s savviness around finances. Kylie’s ability to just go for it and not care what other people’s opinions are. And my mom’s nurturing,” she said.
While Kim said she wouldn’t remove any qualities from her mom Kris Jenner—adding that she’s “perfect”—she did have a few qualities she’d nix from her siblings.
“Maybe… Kourtney’s stubbornness. And Khloé’s getting too sensitive,” she said. “I would take away Kendall’s anxiety, Kylie’s ‘I don’t care, I know what I’m doing’ thing and probably my brother’s moodiness.”
As they say, there are many sides to every story. According to Cardi B, we don’t know all of them.
The Grammy nominee has been stuck in an uncomfortable spot since her fiancé Offset was at the center of cheating allegations earlier this year. While she’s already rebuffed her critics in the wake of the claims— tweeting back in January, “I don’t need to be rushed or be told what to do”—the star has since doubled down on her decision to stay with the Migos star despite whatever he’s guilty of doing.
“It’s like everybody is coming down my neck like, ‘Why are you not leaving him? You have low self-esteem.’ I don’t have low self-esteem,” she retorted in an interview with Cosmopolitan. “I know I look good. I know I’m rich, I know I’m talented. I know I could get any man I want—any basketball player, football player. But, I want to work out my sh-t with my man, and I don’t got to explain why.”
Primer, foundation, concealer, blush, highlighter, eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick—with so many steps in your daily beauty routine, applying makeup can be time-consuming.
Cue celebrity makeup artist Beau Nelson‘s beauty hack, which results in a shorter routine and a beautiful effortless look.
“Use products that multitask,” he told E! News. “Things like creme blushes that can be used on lips as well save time and coordinate makeup seamlessly.”
The beauty expert, who doubles as a photographer, works with Ashley Graham, Kate Bosworth and Nicole Richie among others for editorial shoots, as well as the red carpet. Between his experience with them and working backstage of runway shows like the Juicy Couture Fall/Winter 2018 show, he knows how to get people out of his chair fast.
Josh Duhamel to the rescue!
Mice aren’t exactly strangers to the Big Apple, but it isn’t every day you spot one in the Today green room. Well, Tuesday was the day for the Love, Simon star after he wrapped up his appearance on the morning news program.
As Al Roker chronicled on his Instagram account, the weatherman arrived just in time to see Duhamel’s completed capture.
“Josh Duhamel, you caught the green room mouse?” the TV personality asked the actor. “We got him,” Duhamel retorted, revealing the mouse inside a coffee cup.
Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian are revealing their diet and workout routines.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars are giving their fans an insight into their health and fitness lifestyle on their apps this week. In a post entitled “How I Get a Flat Stomach,” Kim, who recently revealed her waist is 24 inches, and her trainer Melissa Alcantara share Kim’s “exact” ab workout with her followers.
“It’s so important to work out your core!” Kim writes. “My trainer Melissa and I have been doing really intense ab workouts—and even though they’re SO hard, I love the end result.”
Melissa then breaks down the four core workouts Kim does to get her incredible abs.
Toni Braxton is showing off her engagement ring!
Last week, the singer confirmed her engagement to rapper Birdman in a teaser for the upcoming season of Braxton Family Values. “I have an announcement to make,” she shared with her family. “I’m engaged!”
On Tuesday, Toni appeared on ITV1’s Loose Women and flashed her gorgeous diamond ring with the co-hosts. “We hear congratulations are in order,” the co-hosts said to Toni.
“Oh what are you talking about? What do you mean?” Toni joked as she pretended to play with her hair and scratch her face, showing off the ring. “He did well, right?”
A Wrinkle in Time premiered Monday night, but there was nary a wrinkle in fabric in sight.
Stars including Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling brought their red carpet A-game, shining in celestial style. Of course, did we expect anything less? Keeping with the sci-fi fantasy theme, other celebrities also arrived in similar motifs and details.
For instance, Issa Rae—outfitted in head-to-toe sunshine yellow—channeled angelic vibes with a crown braid halo, while Tessa Thompson looked perfectly poised in her beaded blue frock, a visual interpretation of the night sky. However, it was her pink pout and bedazzled clutch featuring a crescent moon that really brought the ensemble together.
You took your coat off and stood in the rain,
You’re always crazy like that.
And I watched from my window,
Always felt I was outside looking in on you.
You’re always the mysterious one with
Dark eyes and careless hair,
You were fashionably sensitive
But too cool to care.
You stood in my doorway, with nothing to say
Besides some comment on the weather.
Well in case you failed to notice,
In case you failed to see,
This is my heart bleeding before you,
This is me down on my knees, and…
These foolish games are tearing me apart,
And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart.
You’re breaking my heart.
You’re always brilliant in the morning,
Smoking your cigarettes and talking over coffee.
Your philosophies on art, Baroque moved you.
You loved Mozart and you’d speak of your loved ones
As I clumsily strummed my guitar.
You’d teach me of honest things
Things that were daring, things that were clean
Things that knew what an honest dollar did mean
So I hid my soiled hands behind my back
Somewhere along the line I must’ve gone off track with you
Well, excuse me, guess I’ve mistaken you for somebody else,
Somebody who gave a damn,
Somebody more like myself.
You took your coat off,
Stood in the rain,
You’re always crazy like that.
