Carole wouldn’t dish the whole story, but she explained, “It was a bunch of things. It just felt like suddenly it was very gossip-y and mean and unnecessary, and I was just like, that’s not the person I knew.”
But perhaps the most telling thing Carole said was, “I am not competitive with my friends. I only wish my friends the best in everything and much success…I celebrate them. I compete with only myself, so it was just a little eye-opening.”
Color us VERY intrigued to see how this friendship fractures!

It’s sweater season!
While it’s time to say good bye to winter coats—insert applause here—knitwear is coming to forefront of wardrobes. Robe-like sweaters, graphic pullovers and detailed knits are the perfect solution to the evening chill or cooler days. Depending on the level of detail, you can either add simplistic knits to your closet as staples, or you can invest in statement-making pieces that will be the star of your ensemble.
Gwen Stefani does both with a grey turtleneck sweater with fringe details. The neutral hue pairs well with most things, although her black skinny jeans, heeled ankle boots and structured tote are the perfect casual-yet-stunning additions. The fringe detail gives the staple a funky twist, in true Gwen fashion, making it an attention-grabbing piece.
Luann de Lesseps made an unintentional splash in The Real Housewives of New York City season 10 premiere. Luann attended Dorinda Medley‘s Halloween party as Diana Ross, complete with a large wig, and appeared to alter her skin color. Viewers on Twitter took issue with Luann’s costume, but Luann denied charges she altered her skin color and appeared in blackface as part of her costume.
“I would like to clear the air, I love and respect Diana Ross, this was my tribute to her I was showing my sincere admiration. I in no way altered my skin color and I did not mean to offend anyone,” Luann tweeted.
Scandal works in mysterious ways.
It can alternately make people famous forever or relegate them to the dustbin of relevance. Give them an indelible mark next to their names for posterity or, at the end of the day, just serve as a blip in a life story.
But either way, scandal has a long shelf life. A story’s timeliness can actually bounce around from era to era, hiding in plain sight for years before it’s determined that it’s a story that needs revisiting. And now seems to be the time that every crime, misstep and mystery is primed for a retelling, with Hollywood cranking out project after project to satiate a public more eager than ever to find answers to the questions of “why?” and “how?”
Starting tomorrow the film Chappaquiddick, starring Jason Clarke as Sen. Edward Kennedy, looks to shed some light on a truly bizarre chapter in, not just the teeming Kennedy family history, but in American history in general. The story of the accident that occurred on July 19, 1969, and its aftermath is one for the ages, but at the time it had to share a news cycle with not only the Apollo 11 moon landing the next day, but the murders of Sharon Tate and six others by the Manson family barely three weeks later.
Welcome back, Dr. Evil.
The iconic villain of the Austin Powers franchise returned to the screen on Wednesday night, thanks in part to Jimmy Fallon.
“The big story is still President [Donald] Trump and all the turnover in his administration,” the late-night host told his audience. “It seems like every week someone new loses their job and, believe it or not, another person was just fired by Trump moments ago. This literally just happened and we’re lucky enough to get an exclusive interview with them right now.”
That person was Mike Myers dressed up as his iconic character. “Dr. Evil?” Fallon asked as he appeared.
“No, it’s Adam Levine,” the actor retorted. “Of course it’s Dr. Evil, numbest.”
Last August, life was going so well for Amber Portwood it felt like a good time to mend some fences.
Sure, she and Farrah Abraham had come this close to physical blows while filming a 2016 Teen Mom OG reunion special and exchanged countless curse words and pointed fingers throughout the two-minute scuffle, but, “I still love her to death,” Portwood insisted during an appearance on E!’s Daily Pop. The only reason they were ever at odds, she explained, was because they both have a “very strong mind and strong opinions. Plus, she’s crazy.” Still, said Portwood, “I’m ready to let everything go.”
Abraham was following a different script. Talking to E! News days later she rebuffed Portwood’s olive branch. “In the same sentence she wants to be friends with me, she always says I’m crazy,” says Abraham. So would she answer her call? “I believe she’s blocked.”
Get ready Frozen fans because Kristen Bell has already recorded her part for the film’s sequel.
The 37-year-old actress broke the news on Thursday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Well, you know, I can’t say a lot because Disney has people everywhere,” the Anna star said. “But, I have recorded the movie. There will be edits before it’s finished.”
While The Good Place star remained fairly tight-lipped about the upcoming film, she did suggest she knows quite a bit about it.
“I know the songs, I know the stories—it’s very good. I can’t say much more than that or I’ll get in trouble,” she said.

Jenni “JWoww” Farley‘s infamous “After I have sex with a guy I will rip their heads off” is now “We’re so classy now!” Gasp, has the Jersey Shore cast matured beyond partying and fighting over the smoosh room?!

The wrestling world has lost a beloved legend.
“Luscious” Johnny Valiant died Wednesday morning after being hit by a pickup truck, E! News has learned. The wrestler was crossing a road in his native Pittsburgh, Pa. before 5:30 a.m. when he was struck by the truck, Detective Brian Kohlhepp confirmed to E! News, noting it was dark at the time of the accident.
Valiant was taken to Allegheny General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The star was 71 years old. “The investigation is early on, but there is no indication at this point that this is anything other than a terrible accident,” Kohlhepp said.
“WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer ‘Luscious’ Johnny Valiant reportedly passed away this morning at the age of 71,” the company tweeted late Wednesday.
To call for help, first you need a number.
It’s a lesson Luann de Lessepslearned the hard way when she spent a night in jail last December after she was arrested in Palm Beach, Fla. on charges of battery on an officer, disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest with violence and crimes against a person. She has since pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
“Remember three phone numbers from your phone because if you ever go to jail, you have to remember phone numbers,” the reality star told a fan caller and the audience on Watch What Happens Live! With Andy Cohen Wednesday night. “I couldn’t remember a phone number and the one number I did remember I didn’t want to call it.”
HGTV just landed themselves one hell of a new house-flipping married couple.
The cable network has announced that Gabrielle Union and her NBA champ husband Dwyane Wade are teaming up and taking a break from their day jobs to complete a major home transformation in the upcoming special All-Star Flip. In the special, airing Thursday, April 12, fans of the couple will see them showcase their love for home renovation as they buy, overhaul and flip a fixer upper in an up-and-coming Miami neighborhood.
“Ever since we renovated our house a few years ago, I’ve been a little real-estate obsessed,” Union said in a statement. “It took a while, but I finally convinced Dwyane that we should try flipping a house.”
Sean Penn and Robin Wright‘s 24-year-old son, Hopper Penn, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in Nebraska.
A representative for the Nebraska State Patrol tells E! News of the arrest, “At approximately 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, a Nebraska State Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle at the Giltner exit on Interstate 80 for failure to signal. The vehicle was a 1992 Volvo traveling westbound. During the traffic stop, the trooper detected drug activity and searched the vehicle. Troopers found 14g of marijuana, 4 amphetamine pills, and 3g of psilocybin mushrooms.”
The two occupants of the vehicle were Hopper and 26-year-old Uma Von Wittkamp.
In late 2009, Heidi Montag underwent 10 cosmetic procedures in one day—a radical decision the former MTV reality star would later come to regret. Without telling her friends or family, and with her husband Spencer Pratt‘s support, she asked Dr. Frank Ryan to give her a chin reduction, brow-lifts, ear pinnings, a second rhinoplasty and a second breast augmentation, among other enhancements. But the operations had nearly fatal complications, she tells PAPER.
“Spencer thought he lost me. I died for a minute. With that much surgery, I had to have 24-hour nurse care and Spencer didn’t want to leave my side. I was at a recovery center and had Demerol to deal with the pain because it was so extreme,” Heidi tells the magazine. At one point, she recalls, “My security guards called Spencer and told him, ‘Heidi’s heart stopped. She’s not going to make it.’ And I easily could’ve. Cutting yourself up isn’t something I’d recommend, and Demerol isn’t anything to play around with. That’s how Michael Jackson died.” Years later, Heidi had her size F breast implants removed and spoke candidly about mistakes she’d made. And, in hindsight, “A lot of positive things came out of that. I had to look at myself in the mirror every day healing, and be like, ‘What did I do to myself? How did I get here? What is going on?’ I basically had to hit that rock-bottom moment in my life, to realize what was important to me.”
Snooki said being away from her two children, son Lorenzo, 5, and daughter Giovanna, 3, and husband Jionni LaValle, while filming the first season in Miami was, “the worst mom guilt I’ve had in my entire life.”
And if the format doesn’t change, Jersey Shore will likely be losing another roommate, in addition to Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, who chose not to take part in season one.
“If it’s like that again, I am pulling out of season two,” Snooki told us. “Being a mother comes first, so hopefully they’ll work with me on that.”
This preemptive statement from the actress comes one month after she took to social media to send another message to her haters.
Hours before the 2018 Oscars, Hathaway responded to the criticism surrounding her appearance at the 2013 Academy Awards, the night she took home the Best Supporting Actress award.
“I had to change my dress last minute and so it looked like my nipples were hard, I had full blown laryngitis and had to sing, and a bunch of corny haters were getting lots of attention from the media for being haters but you know what? It was still the best,” she wrote on Instagram. “To all the nominees, I hope you have a BLAST tonight doing all that #bestlife #oscars stuff. Peace xx.”
