Beyoncé mixed some things up but still brought out some welcome familiar faces during her second Coachella show.
The singer once again brought out Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland for a Destiny’s Childreunion onstage on Saturday. The trio performed the same medley as they did at Bey’s first Coachella show last weekend—which included the songs “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name” and “Soldier”—but wore sparkling silver outfits this time.
Beyoncé kept her set list the same, performing her solo hits and a few covers alone as well as with returning special guests husband Jay-Z, sister Solange. This time, J Balvin joined the singer onstage in person to perform a remix of his song “Mi gente.”
The main difference between Beyoncé’s first and second Coachella shows were her outfits, which were all designed by Balmain’s Olivier Rousting.
Eminem celebrated a special birthday just before the weekend: He is 10 years sober.
The reclusive rapper had battled alcoholism and prescription medication addictions for years. He went to rehab in 2005 but relapsed the following year. In late 2007, he nearly died from an accidental methadone overdose. He then decided to get clean.
On Saturday, Eminem posted on his Instagram page a photo of himself holding a sobriety coin that bears the circle and triangle symbol used by Alcoholics Anonymous.
“Celebrated my 10 years yesterday,” he wrote.
It’s been two days, but it’s still hard to get over the twist Jane the Virgin pulled in its season four finale.
Most fans had only just gotten over the shocking death of Michael (Brett Dier) in season three and had started to be OK with widowed Jane (Gina Rodriguez) moving on with baby daddy Rafael (Justin Baldoni). But then, just before he was preparing to propose in Friday’s finale, Rafael got some surprising information that clearly shook him to his core. Jane thought it was news about who his parents are and promised she would love him unconditionally through whatever the news was, but of course the news was a bit more surprising and a bit more complicated than that.
Michael is still alive!
Previously, E! News reported that the twosome were very happy in their rekindled relationship.
“Cheryl and Matthew are very serious. They are super happy and have been dating for over six months,” a source shared with E! News last year. “They tried to keep their relationship on the down low for several months and were taking it very slow, but now they are extremely serious.”
Our insider added, “Cheryl thinks that ‘second time’s a charm’ and she is more in love than ever and Matthew absolutely reciprocates the same feelings.”
UPDATE: Upon receiving criticism for her comments, Shania Twain has issued a statement to E! News, apologizing for her remarks.
“I would like to apologize to anybody I have offended in a recent interview with the Guardian relating to the American President. The question caught me off guard. As a Canadian, I regret answering this unexpected question without giving my response more context. I am passionately against discrimination of any kind and hope it’s clear from the choices I have made, and the people I stand with, that I do not hold any common moral beliefs with the current President. I was trying to explain, in response to a question about the election, that my limited understanding was that the President talked to a portion of America like an accessible person they could relate to, as he was NOT a politician. My answer was awkward, but certainly should not be taken as representative of my values nor does it mean I endorse him. I make music to bring people together. My path will always be one of inclusivity, as my history shows.”
Let’s go, girl!
In a revealing new interview, country rocker and comeback queen Shania Twain once again opened up about her 15-year break from recording, her failed marriage to Robert John “Mutt” Lange, her former best friend who had an affair with her now ex-husband and her “passionate” marriage with Frédéric Thiébaud. The Canadian also discussed her political beliefs in the candid new chat with The Guardian.
The conservative Canuck, who could not vote in the 2016 election, talked about her affinity for the controversial president, who is currently at the epicenter of several scandals (both political and sexual).
“I would have voted for him because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest,” said the singer. “Do you want straight or polite? Not that you shouldn’t be able to have both. If I were voting, I just don’t want bullsh-t. I would have voted for a feeling that it was transparent. And politics has a reputation of not being that, right?”
Queen Helena has more pressing matters to attend to. She needs to find a special pen she was planning to donate to the exhibit. A pen which it turns out Princess Eleanor has stolen for her secret missions and needs Jasper’s help to get back. Although Jasper has been less than thrilled with her missions, he agrees to help her with this one. Which means a little breaking and entering.
The pair end up at the house Eleanor gave the pen away to and after some rummaging they locate the pen in the freezer of all places! Just when they think they’re home free, their mission is interrupted when the family whose home they broke into returns. Naturally, they decide their best plan of action is to hide in the closet.
Life in the single lane!
Three weeks after announcing his shocking split with wife Jenna Dewan, Channing Tatum hit up an IndyCar event, the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, which was held at the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham. Surprisingly enough, the superstar was chilling with none other than The Bachelor’s Arie Luyendyk Jr. . Sunday’s unlikely appearance marks the actor’s first public event since the twosome let the world know that they were parting ways.
The reality star was quick to share images and video of him spending time on the track with the Hollywood star, who was kept a low profile in recent days.
“I would love to get my hands on your instrument, but what I wouldn’t love, what I’d hate to be honest, is a bunch of Institute of the Higher Mind bull s–t on my set,” she warned.
“I keep my business with IHM completely separate from my work, completely,” Megan promised.
Just before jetting out of town to film the last scenes of Technicolor Highway, Megan gets a call from Creative Partners, but it’s not good news. She didn’t land Agent Jane and something tells us her IHM affiliation had something to do with it.
That suspicion was confirmed when Leslie showed up in the rainy woods and dropped a bomb on her former client.
“Delia Clarke wanted you. You were her first choice. Creative Partners pulled you out,” Leslie told Megan. “That’s ridiculous,” a baffled Megan retorted. “That’s the truth Megan. You got screwed by your own people,” Leslie insisted.
What it all boiled down to was the non-compete clause in Megan’s marriage contract.
Olympian McKayla Maroney says former doctor Larry Nassar says she first spoke out about his sexual abuse of her in 2011.
In January, the former USA Gymnastic physician was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for sexually abusing female gymnasts, including Maroney and fellow Olympians and “Fierce Five” members Aly Raisman and Jordyn Wieber, under the guise of medical treatment. More than 250 women have come forward.
Maroney told NBC News’ Dateline in an interview airing on Sunday that in 2011, when she was 15 and two years after she said the abuse first began, Nassar “went overboard” while molesting her in his Tokyo hotel room. He had accompanied her and other gymnasts to the world championships in Japan.
“[It] was very, very hard for me not to acknowledge the fact that…this was not treatment. I was being abused,” she said. “I was bawling, naked on a bed, him on top of me, like fingering me…I thought I was going to die. It was escalating.”
“The reckoning is here.”
After what feels like forever, Westworld has returned to further help us question everything we know and annoy each other with endless theories about what the heck is going on. And while there are some new mysteries afoot, we’re kinda not feeling that same sense of wonder we were feeling back at the beginning of season one.
Without the question of who’s a host and who’s not and what’s the deal with the Man in Black, and with the knowledge that the hosts are taking over, it’s a little harder to care…so far. We’ll have to see how things go after tonight.
The premiere picked up just after last season left off, with the board massacre. Of course we first had to get through some dream nonsense from Bernard and Dolores, but then we saw the clean up efforts. Namely, all the hosts were getting executed. Cool.
He’s got her back!
Matt Smith, who plays Prince Philip in season one and two of Netflix’s The Crown, is breaking his silence and speaking out in support of his co-star Claire Foy, who stars as Queen Elizabeth II, after it emerged that the lead actress was getting paid less than him.
At the world premiere of his upcoming film Mapplethorpe, Smith talked to about the The Hollywood Reporter about the headline-making pay disparity and made sure to publicly back the British actress.
“Claire is one of my best friends, and I believe that we should be paid equally and fairly and there should be equality for all,” he said to the outlet. “I support her completely, and I’m pleased that it was resolved and they made amends for it because that what’s needed to happen.Going forward, I think we should all bear in mind that we need to strive to make this better and a more even playing field for everyone involved — but not just in our industry, in all industries.”
It is unclear what Smith’s remark of “made amends” means, as Netflix has not put out a statement on the matter.
E! News has reached out to Netflix for comment.
The end came in mid-April. That’s when 14-year-old Willow—the last of Queen Elizabeth II‘s corgis—finally succumbed to cancer.
Since childhood the monarch has owned more than 30 corgis, her infatuation beginning when her father, King George VI, brought Dookie home from a local kennel. And while the queen still has two corgi-dachshund mixes (or “dorgis”) in Vulcan and Candy, Willow—who appeared in the James Bond sketch that opened the 2012 Olympics and on the Vanity Fair cover with the Queen in 2016—was her last remaining home-bred Pembrokeshire Welsh pup. In 2015, adviser Monty Roberts told Vanity Fair, she didn’t want to add to her pack because “she didn’t want to leave any young dog behind. She wanted to put an end to it.”
Ariana Grande‘s comeback continues!
The singer took to the stage on Friday at the 2018 Coachella music festival in Indio, California and gave a short, surprise performance during Kygo‘s set. She performed her new single, “No Tears Left to Cry,” which was released that day, as well as Marvin Gaye‘s “Sexual Healing.” Grande sported a lavender-tinted crimped hair and wore it in her signature high ponytail. She paired the hairstyle with a matching lavender cropped tank top and flared skirt and nude thigh-high boots.
The singer has largely stayed out of the spotlight and off social media for months and had only performed once before this year as she works on new music.
A man has been arrested after breaking into Taylor Swift‘s New York City apartment on Friday, April 20.
The NYPD tells E! News in a statement that they responded to a report of burglary at approximately 12:30 p.m.
“During the investigation officers arrested Rodger Alvarado, 22, from Florida,” the statement from the NYPD reads. “He is charged with stalking in the 1st, burglary, criminal mischief in the 3rd and criminal trespassing in the 3rd.”
Law enforcement sources told TMZ on Friday that after Alvarado gained entry into Swift’s home, he took a shower and fell asleep in a bed in the apartment.
Later on Saturday, the two attended a 92nd birthday concert for his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II‘s at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Meghan wore a navy Stella McCartney “Stella” cape dress.
“If you’re a fan of Meghan’s clean minimal lines, you were happy with the look this evening with the draping of the Stella McCartney Cape Gown across her shoulders,” Amanda said. “We loved how the look was classic but not boring—the cape added a flair of the dramatic only appropriate for a woman who used to be an actress—and her whimsical addition of an astrological sign purse was divine.”
“Overall, we thought we saw two very different, yet very Meghan looks,” Amanda said. “One was vibrant, colorful and yet still royal engagement appropriate with a black blazer and shoe added, while the other was classic, chic and with a flair for the dramatic only appropriate for the Queen’s Birthday concert. It’s been a busy few days for Meghan and she’s continuing to blow us away with looks that are extremely well styled, fashion-forward and yet still managing to look like she was born to play the role of the soon-to-be Duchess Meghan.”
